Leadership, in politics as well as business, is fueled by passion. By the power of a certain world view and their role in shaping that future world.
President Ronald Reagan had a way of seeing the world through a strategic lens and then communicating his view of the world in a way that made people sit up, listen, and be moved. He saw American exceptionalism. The strength of Democracy over Totalitarianism. He built coalitions. He brought down the Evil Empire.
Well that is Ronald Reagan in the era of the Cold War. But that was a long time ago. Now we have a new war – a war on Radical Islam and Islamic Jihad.
First see how President George W. Bush responded following the 9/11 attacks.

Now compare that with President Barack Obama’s speech tonight following the San Bernardino terrorist attack.

You’ve seen the different videos. Is there a passion gap between Reagan/Bush versus Obama?
You can sense a lack of outrage from Obama.
Over his term as President he has demonstrated his resentment of American leadership in the world. He ignores the attacks on Christianity and defends the Muslim faith. He seeks to flood our nation with people who have no intention of integrating and embracing our culture and the American Dream and Constitutional basis…as he shows he doesn’t embrace it.
He shows through his actions that his agenda is more important than the security of our nation.
And this video, and his body language, says it all.
Now lets look at something President Obama does believe in and see and hear the passion difference.

Or this one…

He has passion. Just not for this fight. War and defeating radical Islam is just not in his world view as you saw in that video.
So you’ve seen strong passionate pleas and a speech that lacked that passion. And you can sense the difference.
So what about you? What are you passionate about? Does that passion come through? Is it visible to your friends, family, coworkers, employees, vendors, clients? If not, why not?
Nothing great ever happened in politics or business or in your life without passion.
Use passion and make it happen.
