I was watching the last pro football regular season game of the year. It was the Green Bay Packers against the Minnesota Vikings.
It was an interesting game in that both teams wanted to win but there was also a benefit in not winning (if they lost they wouldn’t play the surging Seattle Seahawks).
So Minnesota gets off to a good start and the Packers are playing boring up the middle running game offense – not like what you’re used to with the high powered deep passing of years past.
So the Packers get in a hole and it is going to take a lot to recover. But recover they do. A few drives with a resurgent passing game and they’re almost back in it.
And that is when the most unusual of plays happens. Check it out here.
Kicker Strips Ball on Kickoff Return Tackle
Were you expecting that result?
Like me, probably not.
It isn’t often you see that from a kicker. Normally they’re trying to stay out of the way and not get injured. They’re just not made for mixing it up in tackles.
But that isn’t the Green Bay Packers Mystique.
You expect big plays. You expect that do whatever it takes to win that so embodies the legend of Green Bay
And that is what happened yesterday evening in Green Bay.
Now did they end up winning?
No.
But did it further their legend?
Yes.
And isn’t it legend that brings players and fans back year after year (see their long streak of sold out games and marquee players going to Green Bay)?
So if you were starting or running a business that required hiring staff to get the job done and clients to support you, wouldn’t it be great to not just be another commodity…but a legend?
How can you further YOUR legend? What are the things that really stand out and make you different? How can you craft that into your legendary story?
Like the Green Bay Packers’ mystique, how can you craft yours?
