When was the last time you backed up your main business laptop? If it hasn’t been for a while, then this is something that you definitely need to think about doing as soon as possible! Otherwise, you might end up losing some, if not all, of your important and sensitive files and data. Some of that data will be completely lost for good and there might be no way of ever retrieving. Some could be retrievable, but you might be forced to use a specialist data-retrieval firm that could end up costing you a fortune.
Still not convinced that you need to back up? Here are some more reasons why.
Getting Backed Up Shouldn’t Cost You
Worried about the cost of transferring all of your files and data onto the cloud? That needn’t worry you as it can actually be very reasonably priced. That’s especially the case if you go with a company like Kumo who offer their cloud services to companies. These kinds of companies provide a complete service so you can be sure that everything they offer is reasonably priced.
Back at the Apple store. My Apple Genius made a backup of the current library. Deleted the current photo library. Emptied trashcan.

It Keeps Your Customer’s Data Secure
These days, after so many data breaches and scandals from the likes of Facebook, lots of customers are now very wary of how their data is being used by huge online companies. So, you might find that some of your customers are nervous about passing you their data. Because of this, you should take extra care to regularly backup your computer to try and keep their data as secure as possible. If you can show your customers that you are trying hard to keep their data safe and sound, then they are more likely to trust your company.
Viruses Attack Without Warning
Viruses can attack your computer without any warning. Similarly, hackers can try and get your data without you even knowing. If these two threats were to ever breach your computer’s cybersecurity, you could very well end up losing all of your data. Thankfully, if your computer was recently backed up, it should be easy to get back.
You Never Know When Accidents Might Happen
It’s not just viruses and attempts at hacking that can occur without warning – you might have an accident and end up breaking your computer! For instance, it can be all too easy to knock over a glass of water onto your machine. If this does happen, you might not be able to turn on your computer again. At least if you have backed up, you don’t need to worry about losing any data.
File Recovery Can Be Expensive
There will, of course, be some cases in which you will be able to get a firm to help you retrieve any lost files and data. However, this can be extremely expensive, and it could eat into a lot of your budget. Don’t risk this huge cost and just ensure that you have backed everything up.
Hopefully, you now understand why it’s so important to backup your business computer!
