PROFESSIONAL RESUME
This resume rewrite service is a done-for-you service.
- No searching Google for hours on end…trying to make sense of things and figure out what to do and what matters most.
- No filling out a long painful form…that if you knew the answers to…you would have done your resume yourself.
- No scratching your head wondering where to start…and feeling overwhelmed.
No muss, no fuss…
Here’s how the process works.
- You email me your resume.
- We have an initial call to discuss your target role, background, etc. This is typically scheduled for evenings or weekends. I’m on Pacific Time out in California.
- I prepare an initial rough draft that gets it into a solid format tailored to your unique experiences, target position, and the details you’ve provided. This is the starting point.
- Then I email the draft back to you that includes questions designed to get more details and uncover forgotten accomplishments.
- You’ll then email back your comments or as needed we’ll jump on another call to talk through your job history to trigger key stories and accomplishments. Many people find this is often the most valuable part of the process…as they get clear as to their unique strengths and accomplishments – many they’ve long forgotten and overlooked on their original resume.
- Then I go back and update the resume based on our conversation to create the final draft. Here’ I’m focused on nailing the first page (recruiters and hiring managers typically spend only 6 seconds scanning resumes to determine which ones to look at further…or toss in the trash). I’m creating a headline, summary, and accomplishment bullets that help the recruiter or hiring manager understand you and your story – how you got to this point and what you can do for them (because ultimately that’s what really matters). The goal here is to make you memorable and someone the recruiter will want to call after reviewing hundreds of resumes. It is also designed to help you be found when your resume is dumped into an Applicant Tracking System (by working on the keywords searchers will use when looking for someone to hire like you).
- Other areas I’ll address:
- Focus it on your strongest qualities and skills – so they jump out.
- I handle that pesky grammar and formatting in Microsoft Word so the columns line up cleanly and professionally.
- In the end you get a resume that is clean and your strengths are instantly obvious when recruiters and hiring managers do their once-over scan of a stack of resumes – so yours catches their eye, and doesn’t go straight to the “pass pile”.
- You’ll look over the final draft and approve it.
- I’ll send you a PayPal link (or another mutually agreeable payment method) when the work is complete so you don’t pay until it is done and you’re happy.
Typically the whole process (depending on each of our schedules) can be accomplished in 1 to 2 weeks depending on how quickly you can turn things around on your end. If you’re in an especially urgent situation, for a $100 expediting fee you can jump to the front of the line and we can knock it out in 48-72 hours (but that will take you being available throughout the process to keep a tight schedule).
In the end you get a resume that has solid impact, reflects your personality (you’re not going to get a templated resume here), and sets you up for a successful interview process (because you know it properly reflects you). If this gets you the job a day sooner, it will already pay for itself.

Nearly 87% of recruiters using LinkedIn to find quality candidates! LinkedIn is your personal professional brand online. And with the advent of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and online job boards like Monster, your online presence must be top-notch to cut through the clutter (think other candidates vying for their attention). And if you want to be found for top positions (rather than having to sit in line hoping someone calls you) then having a solid LinkedIn Profile is critical.
When recruiters and hiring managers check out your LinkedIn profile does it align with your resume? Does it reflect what you want to convey?

- I can either directly update your profile in LinkedIn under your login (you give me a temporary password) or I can send you a Microsoft Word document if you want to do it to get familiar with the process or be more in control. Either way I’ll give you suggestions on how you might do future updates on your own and why each section matters and how it is used. Often this is the most valuable part of the update process.
